Community and elementary (basic) education support
ICO supports various community based educational initiatives in rural areas. One such project is the SIRO Education and Community Project whose project is showcased here (link to Ochieng’s verbiage (page)
College Education Sponsorship (Soma Educational Fund)
The objective here is to assist highly talented students who are orphans or come from very poor families and would like to pursue further education. These are students who can compete with the best anywhere in the world but are unable to realize their dreams of college education due to lack of financial support. ICO has established a scholarship fund known as Soma. Through Soma, ICO is working with partners and donors to raise funds and seek scholarships for such students. These students also receive continuous mentoring and coaching throughout their study period by ICO partners. ICO is interested in assisting students at both undergraduate and graduate levels especially those in interested in in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM
